One of my favorite books is 'Their Eyes Were Watching God' written by Zora Neale Hurston. I had the great fortune of getting an assignment to illustrate a cover for a biography on Zora. I researched her, and read the book so that I could put as much of

I really hesitated for a long time to do a portrait of Obama, because so many artists have done that. He is truly
breaking so many boundaries- our first African-American president for starters. This being Black History Month, I felt it was time to pay my artistic homage to our President. Here he is with his State of the Union speech as word emphasis.
